New York 1901 review | Board Game Reviews | Board Game King

New York 1901 gets compared to the Days of Wonder classic a lot. In fact, there are reasons for that. New York 1901 is easy to learn, yet it provides quite a lot of depth and strategy. Art and setting are similar in both games, card drawing is similar but the game flow is rather different. There is no currency in New York 1901.

For the quality section of the New York 1901 review, we award a wonderful 8 out of 10. A big nod of respect to designer Chénier La Salle. Many of the things that happen in New York 1901 have only happened in personal tableau spaces in other games. Here, everything is layered on top of one communal space and it is done so beautifully.

Amazon: Customer reviews: New York 1901 Board Game

Only down side to New York 1901 is that you can only have a maximum of 4 players in this game. We usually have 1-2 more people who want to play and they have to sit out. I would really like to see a larger board, maybe a new city board with a second city on the reverse side come out like what Ticket To Ride has done over the past few years.

New York 1901 Board Game Review and Rules | Geeky Hobbies

Mar 01, 2017· While the two games feel similar, they don't play like each other at all. While Ticket to Ride is a set collection game, New York 1901 is a tile laying game. While New York 1901 is not as good as Ticket to Ride in my opinion (hard to do with Ticket to Ride being my favorite board game of all time), New York 1901 is still a very good game.
